Project PeTel
Personalized Teaching and Learning
The Weizmann Institute's Science Education Department requested a shared resource repository for all physics teachers in the country, with the added need for teachers to customize and modify the educational materials. We successfully met this challenge, enhancing both the learning experience for students and the user experience for science teachers nationwide.
The Challenge
Enable teachers to effortlessly access and transfer materials from a national repository to their students, adapting content to their specific class needs. Ensure easy viewing, editing, and uploading of materials, and integrate a social component for teachers to communicate, share questions, and engage in one-on-one discussions through the platform.
How We Achieved It
We developed a solution on the Moodle platform, adhering to all development standards, and made extensive customizations to core processes. Key features include:
- Rating System: Teachers can rate activities in the repository for easier and more effective searches.
- Personalized Teaching Sequences: Teachers can copy and adapt courses or activities from the repository to fit their class's needs and student levels.
- Easy Content Creation: Teachers can design custom screens and create interactive content from pre-built templates.
- Integrated Social Network: A built-in forum allows teachers to share resources, edit collaboratively, and communicate within the platform.
